From a young age, I had a passion for design, creating and selling greeting cards using our dot matrix printer. My journey toward a creative career began when I volunteered for the prom committee in high school. It took me a while to narrow down my creative interests, and also had a drafting internship during college.
My college years kick-started my graphic design career, but I've gained the most experience in web and UX design over the past 15+ years on the job. Currently, I'm highly focused on user experience design, emphasizing the importance of user feedback in creating exceptional experiences that align with business goals. The ever-evolving landscape of design across various devices is a challenge I relish. Working within a diverse team of UX designers, front-end developers, product managers, and more, I've come to appreciate how collaboration and constructive criticism foster the best products.
Describing myself as just a UX designer and researcher feels like an understatement, as it's hard to box someone into a single label. I've had the opportunity to work and consult in a wide array of industries, including e-commerce, financial services, healthcare, publishing, startups, software, and technology. Some of the companies I've had the privilege to work or consult with include Ally, American City Business Journals, Bank of the West, Citizens Bank, Dentsply Sirona, Lowe's, and LPL Financial, holding various titles such as visual designer, UX web designer, and user researcher. I also have a decent grasp of HTML and CSS and built my own website.
In my free time, I wear many hats – interior designer, painter, photographer, aspiring architect (I designed my own house), gardener, chicken enthusiast, traveler, cyclist, swim coach, devoted mother to two wonderful kids, a loving wife, and a true friend.
